Innovation and Technology Transfer Centre at the Silesian University of Technology was founded in order to create a pathway between science, business and administration. Increasing market demand, rapid changes in entrepreneurs' environment and new perspectives gained by Polish membership in the European Union are main factors which determine current economy state. Centre's activity profile is a part of long term policy of government and University aiming to increase the role of technical universities in building economy based on knowledge through technology transfer and commercialization of research results. Our aim is to direct and locate intellectual assets strengthening the position of leading innovation transfer centre. To ensure accomplishment of the above we provide:
- Information and promotion services regarding innovation, cooperation networks, technology transfer and intellectual property;
- Support in national and international transfer of technology, knowledge and innovation;
- Networking activities among research units and business;
- Promotion of innovative solutions;
- Commercialization of research results;
- Support for innovative atmosphere in education;
- Assistance in academic entrepreneurship;
- Advisory in intellectual property protection for employees of the University;
- Conferences and trainings organization, technology audits;
- Finance counselling regarding innovative ventures.
Centre offers modern infrastructure and access to hi-tech research results carried out at 12 university faculties (including Civil Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science and Metallurgy, Mathematics and Physics, Automatic Control, Electronics and Computer Science, Mining and Geology) in exchange for opportunity to participate in international projects as a partner.
